Snow Sense of Humor

 April 26, 2008

Ole and Sven loved to fish, and they wanted to do some ice fishing. They’d heard about a good lake and they took off up there. The lake was frozen nicely. They stopped just before they got to the lake at a little bait shop and got all their tackle. One of them said, "We’re going to need an ice pick."

So they got that, and they took off. In about two hours, Ole was back at the shop and said, "We’re going to need another dozen ice picks."

Well, the fellow in the shop wanted to ask some questions, but he didn’t. He sold him the picks, and Ole left.

In about an hour, he was back. He said, "We’re going to need all the ice picks you’ve got."

The fellow couldn’t stand it any longer. "By the way," he asked, "how are you fellows doing?"

"Not very well at all, " Ole said. "We don’t even have the boat in the water yet."

Well today is just another snowy day in Minnesota, I will include a picture for your enjoyment.  I did a little research and found that May 2nd of 1954 and 1976 were snowy as was …Big Drum roll… May 11th 1946.  So as far as I can tell we will be safe from the snow in exactly fifteen days..
I am tired of bitching about the snow, and I am sure you are tired of hearing about it…yet reader counts are up.  Imagine that..I am sure that the news must be out..that there is some old lady in Minnesota that is going to go totally bonkers..and who would want to miss that? How many snowflakes will it take?
The phone has been ringing off the hook, Far Guy reports that in Idaho the grass is green and needs mowing, and they have tulips… In Oregon it will be 69 degrees and the sun is out…it is still snowing here:(

Where did you find your weather facts? I’d love to do a little searching. Can you search by years? One year, we had lilac bushes in full bloom, and then heavy snow, so the blooming lilacs were nearly touching the ground. If I ever come across the pictures we took (at my mom’s), I will need to keep for future late snows. I’m guessing it could have been the May snow of 1976, as I still lived at home then.

I must say, you have the perfect house to be covered in snow…it looks so peaceful. I know, you probably feel that way in December, just not late April, right?
