A Finished Project!!

Finally!! A finished extra bathroom, as I reported in a previous blog, it has been in the works for a long time.
I think it turned out pretty well.  The neutral floor tile and the cobalt blue tile on the countertop surface needed to be married together some how some way.  Far Guy absolutely loved the cobalt blue tile, and since he spent quite a lot of time custom making the cabinet..I let him choose the blue.
I am in no way talented when it comes to interior decorating.  But I do know what I like. My taste borders on Eclectic and Country Casual.  Pretty fancy words..we used to call it "Early Junk" and "What we found at a yard sale"..now days it is Eclectic.  I have a friend who considers herself a decorator, her taste runs to cherrywood and Traditional.  Everything in her house is perfectly placed, and she is happy with it..I found it a little too perfect.
I agonized with those two paint colors for months and months.  I love yellow! So I chose yellow and the blue jean blue!  And painted…and painted..that bead board soaked up paint like there was no tomarrow.
Then I searched the internet for an acceptable Shower Curtain..finally deciding on White Tail Deer..the colors were great..blues and golden hues.  I was lucky..so far.. my by the seat of my pants decorating is working!
Far Guy and I put or two heads together and came up with the idea of using sheds for the towel holder and TP holder…a brillient idea..aided by our good friend Sue in Indiana:)

Nice job…you done well.;-) Great decorating and very nice handiwork on the construction project. I like a mix of eclectic/shabby chic and antique, with an emphasis on natural fabrics and earthy colors…no perfection for me. I just go with whatever “moves me” at the time. My house will never look like someone else’s.:>)

I have a couple sisters that had a nice little store in an old church…shabby chic was definitely their niche. Unfortunately, personal life issues got in the way for one of them, and they had to give up the store, just when it was starting to boom.

Thanks Abra..I am just glad it is done!! I am with you on the things that “move you”..some items are so comforting..even when they are very old and worn I keep them!
