This is my Fern Leaf Peony from Iowa.
A few days later..
Such a pretty bloom! It is a bright spot of color next to the grain bin…where it is also sheltered a bit from the wind.
I drug myself to the Doctor yesterday..no pneumonia..only bronchitis..I have medication to take for ten days.
I am feeling old today as my fourth grandchild enters his teenage years..how did he grow up so fast? This is the photo I put on his birthday card.

Just wait til one of those Grands gets married! I felt kind of old that day. (July 2010!!!)
I wish my fern peony had made it….it seemed to die over one winter and I was very disappointed. They are some of the prettiest plants with their ferny leaves and red blooms.
They are really spendy in greenhouses so I have not replaced it.
Noah looks an awful lot like Jennifer in that photo
